Insomnia, part of the "Going Abroad" project by filmmaker Kaveh Rasoulichizari, explores the experience of immigration through the personal accounts of Iranians living abroad and at home. The project unfolds across a short film and an installation of monitors, each carrying one person's story, their motivations, feelings, and the weight of the choice to leave.

Poster Design / Print

A film about immigration is really a film about a feeling that resists easy description, displacement, longing, the particular sleeplessness of living between two places. The poster needed to hold that same tension in a single static image, giving anyone who has lived abroad, or watched someone they love do it, a sense of recognition before the film even starts. Designed for the film's release, the poster set the emotional tone for the larger project, translating a deeply personal, collective experience into something a viewer could feel at a glance.
